When Artists Take Over St Kevins Arcade
So in the midst of Auckland Council cracking down on all things Street Art around Auckland city, this wall came just in time! Located on the ‘official RWC walking trail’ the Auckland Council actually commissioned the Cut Collective team to paint the walls leading up the St Kevins Arcade stairs. Seemed a bit strange considering their whole crack down policy….but none the less we are all (by we all I mean myself and the locals I have... Read More
LAST GASP!
Last Thursday I helped organize ‘LAST GASP’ a solo exhibition by the Grey Lynn local GASP. He has been hitting the streets hard over the last 10+ years and now it is time for him to hit the gallery scene. By the number of works sold and the rad creatives and collectors that turned up to support on the opening night, it is safe to say this exhibition was a great success! If you missed the opening make sure to head down to 90 Wellesley... Read More
Paint day @ a RWC Fan Zone
Last Friday evening I got together with five local artists to paint a bunch of crates for one of the new Rugby World Cup Fan Zones. The scope was that the crates had to be painted with a RWC theme. After seven hours of pretty much straight painting the guys had powered through 46 of the 50 crates. It was definitely inspiring to watch the on-the-spot creativity these guys produced hour after hour on this project. Over the next two weeks if you... Read More
Top 10 Street Art Pics . S e p t 11
A while back I was asked to do a monthly guest spot on Invurt Magazine, a Melbourne based street art online mag. They wanted me to send through my top 10 street art photographs I stumbled upon each month. I’m definitely not an expert, and everyone has their own tastes, but anyhoo here are my favourite street arts pics from September, taken in and around Auckland. I hope you like. The Dirty 13 – Opening Night
Last Wednesday was the opening of The Dirty 13, a street art exhibition I had the pleasure of being apart of this year. This exhibition was part of a larger event happening at the Basement called The Basement Fest. Charlie and the team at The Basement were awesome to work with and it was such a dynamic, energetic spot to hang over the last few weeks. The space itself was a bit challenging compared to your stock standard gallery, but that was part... Read More
NZ Artists Spotted in The Streets of Melbourne
Walking the streets of Melbourne I stumbled upon a few familiar artists from Kiwi Land. A hint of Auckland based artist City left from his last trip to Melbourne. Cut Collective spotted at Section 8, China Town. Currently based in Melbourne, NZ born artist Drab is going hard in the streets of Melbourne. Really loved this dudes style. Above and below is some work and stickering from mister Drypnz. Photography above and below is one of my favourite... Read More
Beautifying Karangahape Road – One Wall At A Time
With the recent campaign against street art (and in my mind a creative and vibrant Auckland City) by our local city council leading up to the Ruby World Cup there’s only one thing to be done. Fight back! I know I am not the only one that was extremely upset (to say the least) when the Poyton Terrace mural got grayed over (click here for a full run down of what happened). This is evident with the 1,000+ signatures on a petition protesting Auckland... Read More
Red Bull Wreckers Yard – NZ artists in Melbourne
Last month I spent two weeks exploring the streets of Melbourne, and the city definitely lived up to its hype! Great food (mmmm dumplings and pho), European inspired alley ways, creativity around every corner and overall just such lovely people. How could you not love Melbourne? My trip coincided with the finals of the Red Bull Wreckers Yard, a yearly graff competition that happens throughout Australasia. Artists from Perth, Brisbane, Sydney,... Read More
A House On College Hill Road – Part 3
Have you checked out the latest issue of Juxtapose Mag? Smiled when I read about the houses getting taken over in the Detroit projects by local artists…just like this house on College Hill Road (only on a slightly bigger scale…as is the way in the USA). Someone’s always watching… For more pics check out Part 1 and Part 2. Read More

A House on College Hill Road
To be completely honest, I wasn’t having the best of days and on my walk home I passed this house. Later I came back to explore with my camera and had a look inside. Seriously, this made my day. From inside to out this house is getting completely covered by some wicked works. Once home to a number of Auckland based graffiti artists, this house is a temporary shrine to a bunch of NZ street artists. Turns out the land owners gave these kids... Read More
Auckland Street Art
Where has all the graffiti gone? So after traveling up and down the west coast of North America for the past three months, I have returned to where I now call home, Auckland, with fresh eyes. Don’t you just love that? Seems like there is so much creativity in the air, with magazine launches, fashion shows, gallery openings, Zine Festivals and so many exciting upcoming concerts. I literally get giddy just thinking about the summer to come! My... Read More
